Calamity Jane - Love Song/Believe 7 Inch Single (1992)

Calamity Jane served up gritty, Riot Grrl Punk in an era when Grunge was a guy thing. Although some of the band's female lineup later moved into playing new forms of Indie Rock (with other Northwest bands such as No. 2 and the Spinanes), this rocket-fueled foursome is still a force to be reckoned with.

This is the Love Song/Believe single from the Portland grunge/Riot Grrl band Calamity Jane. It was released in 1992 by Tim Kerr Records and ripped from my 7 inch record.

From Austin Texas, 12 FlOZ was a New Wave band active from 1997 to 2001.

From their Myspace page:
We were what we were but were we all that we could be?
Our little band was what it was. Friends having a good time trying to play our little Instruments. We consisted of, although not all at the same time - Amy, Stephanie, Jools, Stepahnie, Steve and Sean. Our one and only gig as a party at the Rabb house in which sean started to improv a Beatles song and amy left the stage to mingle with the crowd. Ahhh the memories. We were acitve from 1997 to around 2001 I suppose. So that other Band with our name needs to cease and desist or We will sue your asses. We were first. But then again I seem to remember that Amy and Stephanie wanted us to be called ''Sean + Lovely''

Here are two artists, Girl Telephones and City City, both female singer/songwriters who were living in Portland Oregon at the time (2006), and whose Myspace pages have long been deleted. They were both going to be included on the Ear Death blog, but even at that time their pages were gone and no information or photos could be obtained.

Bran-Doe

Bran-Doe was a Myspace band whose page no longer exists. They were featured on the Ear Death blog two years ago.

From their old Myspace page:
RIP BRANDOE... we broke up. Bran-Doe was always a project the three of us talked about. and one night after being really messed up we decided that it was time to pursue our goals in life. We decided to start with small short songs about the world. And emotions. And the way we feel about things. We aren't really Christians even though some songs may make you think we are. We dont believe in god. But He is real. We also aren't really that racist there just awesome things to talk about. We are also going to continue to improve our songs, and continue to extend the lenghts these are only demo songs.
